Who we are

SwipeExam is run by Sai Rakshith Muda, an individual developer (“we”, “us”). We decide why and how your personal information is used in the SwipeExam app and on swipeexam.com.

Questions about this policy or your data? Email support@swipeexam.com.

What we collect

We collect the least we need to run a study app. Here is everything, grouped by what it is for.

WhatExamplesWhy
AccountYour email address (or the private relay address Apple gives us), the sign-in method you chose (Apple, Google or an email link), and a random account ID.To create your account and let you sign in.
Exam setupThe exam you study for (such as NCLEX-RN), your exam date if you enter one, your country, and your birth year.To tailor your study plan. Birth year is used only to check that you are 18 or older.
Study activityWhich questions you have seen, whether you answered correctly, your last answer, when a question is due for review, and your streak with your time zone.To schedule reviews, show progress and keep your streak.
Subscription statusWhether Premium is active, which plan, when it ends, and which store it came from.To unlock Premium features.
Error reportsThe question, the reason you choose, and an optional note of up to 1,000 characters.To fix mistakes in questions. Please do not put personal details in the note.
AI tutor useHow many tutor requests you made today.To enforce daily limits. What the tutor sends is described in the AI tutor section.
Technical dataApp version, device model and operating system, crash reports, a check that the request comes from a genuine copy of the app, and your IP address in server logs.To keep the service working and secure, and to fix crashes.
Messages to usAnything you send to support@swipeexam.com.To reply and help you.

Your study progress is saved on your phone first. Progress made before you sign in is attached to your account when you do. We never see payment card numbers; Apple or Google handles payment.

We do not ask for your name, phone number, contacts, photos, microphone, camera or precise location.

Who processes your data for us

We use a short list of service providers. They process data only to provide their service to us, under their own privacy terms.

ProviderWhat it does for usWhat it receives
SupabaseSign-in, and the database that stores your profile and progress. Also sends sign-in link emails.Your account, exam setup, study activity, subscription status and error reports.
CloudflareHosts this website and our API, delivers question packs, caches some results to keep things fast, and forwards email sent to our support address.Your IP address and request details. It also caches your Premium status by account ID and AI answers by question, never by your name.
RevenueCatManages subscriptions across the App Store and Google Play.Your random account ID, your purchase and renewal records, and the technical details needed to validate a purchase.
Apple and GoogleSign in with Apple, Sign in with Google, the app stores and payments.What you share when you sign in or buy. Their own policies apply to what they collect directly from you.
Google FirebaseApp Check, which confirms requests come from a genuine copy of SwipeExam, and Crashlytics, which reports crashes.Device and app details, a Firebase installation identifier and crash diagnostics. We do not add your name, email or answers to crash reports.
AnthropicPowers the optional AI tutor.Only what is listed in the AI tutor section, and only if you agree.

The AI tutor

The tutor is optional. It never runs unless you agree and tap one of its buttons.

What is sent to Anthropic, our AI provider: the approved question text and explanation (loaded by our server from our own content, not from your device), which button you tapped (“Explain simpler” or “Why was my answer wrong?”), and the answer option you selected.

What is not sent: your name, email address, account ID, birth year, country, progress, or any other personal data.

  • Consent. The first time you use the tutor, the app shows a screen explaining the above and asks for your permission. We record the time you agreed. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing support@swipeexam.com, and we will turn the tutor off for your account.
  • How Anthropic handles it. Under Anthropic’s commercial terms, content sent through its API is not used to train its models. Anthropic says it deletes API inputs and outputs from its systems within 30 days, with exceptions for things like safety enforcement and legal requirements. See Anthropic’s retention page.
  • Caching. To save cost, we may store a tutor answer keyed by question, version, button and selected answer. It is not linked to you.
  • Limits. Free accounts get 3 tutor uses a day and Premium accounts get 50. We count your uses so we can enforce this.
  • It can be wrong. The tutor is told to restate only our approved explanation and its sources, but AI can still make mistakes. It is not medical advice.

What we do not do

  • We show no ads and use no advertising or analytics SDKs in the app.
  • We do not sell your personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • We do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites, so the app does not show Apple’s tracking prompt.
  • This website sets no cookies of its own and loads no third-party scripts, fonts or trackers.
  • We do not build advertising profiles or sell data to data brokers.

How we use your data

When we share data

We share personal information only:

  • with the service providers listed above, to run SwipeExam;
  • when the law requires it, or to protect people, our service or our rights;
  • if the app is sold or merged, in which case the new owner must honor this policy or tell you first;
  • with your direction or consent.

How long we keep it

  • Account, profile and study data: until you delete your account.
  • After you delete your account: we remove it from our live database right away. Encrypted backups roll off within 30 days.
  • Server logs: kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting.
  • Crash reports: kept by Google for a limited time (currently about 90 days).
  • Purchase records: Apple, Google and RevenueCat keep these under their own policies and tax and accounting laws. They are tied to a random account ID, not your name.
  • Emails to us: as long as needed to help you and keep a record of the request.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • know what we hold about you and get a copy;
  • correct information that is wrong;
  • delete your information (see Deleting your account);
  • move your information to another service where that applies;
  • object to, or ask us to limit, some uses;
  • withdraw consent you gave, such as for the AI tutor;
  • not be treated worse for using these rights.

India. Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask to access, correct and erase your personal data, and you can name someone to use these rights for you if you cannot. To raise a complaint, email support@swipeexam.com. If we do not resolve it, you can go to the Data Protection Board of India.

California and other US states. You can ask to know, correct and delete. We do not sell or share personal information as those laws define them, so there is nothing to opt out of.

EU, UK and Canada. You can use the rights above, and you can complain to your local data protection authority. We would appreciate the chance to fix things first.

How to ask. Email support@swipeexam.com from the address on your account, or use the in-app settings. We may need to confirm it is you. We reply within 30 days, and where the law gives us longer we will tell you why. An authorized agent can ask for you with your written permission.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account and data at any time, in the app or on the web. Follow the steps on the delete-account page. Deleting removes your profile, study activity, streaks, subscription status record and error reports from our live systems. It does not cancel a store subscription; cancel that in your App Store or Google Play settings first.

Age limit

SwipeExam is for people 18 and older. The app asks for your birth year and does not let anyone under 18 create an account. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you think we have, email us and we will delete it.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit. Our database uses row-level security so a signed-in user can read only their own rows. Question packs are signed so the app can detect tampering, and our API checks every request before acting. No system is perfectly secure. If you find a problem, please email support@swipeexam.com.

Where data is processed

We and our providers process data in the United States and possibly other countries. If you are in the EU, UK or Switzerland, we rely on the contractual safeguards our providers offer for international transfers.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and tell you in the app or by email before the change takes effect. Older versions are available on request.
